Class Definition Not Found


class definition not found


This error is due to the old version of Windows that the client is running. There are registry files missing.


To fix

1. Insert the DrDirect Install CD

open the CD drive
open C_inst folder
double click vcredist.exe
follow the prompts to install and finish
do not restart if prompted, after the last executable you will restart the computer

Go back to contents of the CD

open Net2.0 folder
double click datnetfx.exe
follow the prompts to install and finish
do not restart if prompted, after the last executable you will restart the computer

Go back to contents of the CD

open VB6Run folder
double click vbrun60sp6.exe
follow the prompts to install and finish
do not restart if prompted, after the last executable you will restart the computer

Go back to contents of the CD

open IE61 folder
        
open I386 folder
double click setup.exe
follow the prompts to install and finish
restart the computer

2. When the computer is completely back up:

go to My Computer
go to DrDirect folder
double click REGISTER.BAT
the command will automatically run and they will see this:
click okay and close the dos screen

 

Open DrDirect

go to the setup tab
go to communication settings
test communications

3. If the DllRegisterServer in datacomm2.dll was not successful

close the message and the dos screen

go to Start, Run and type command, <Enter>

type copy regsvr32.exe \drdirect  <Enter>

you should get the message 1 file copied

type cd \drdirect <Enter>

type register <Enter>

you should get the DllRegisterServer in datacomm2.dll succeeded

close the windows

Open DrDirect

go to the setup tab

go to communication settings

test communications
